Biography
I am a somatic psychotherapist in private practice in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, WA. I specialize in working with young adults and couples struggling with issues around connection and attachment style/wounding. I also work with those struggling with life transitions, loss/grieving, anxiety and depression. My work is humanistic, relational, experiential and mindfulness driven.
I hold a Masters of Arts in Somatic Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. Post-grad study and experience include: Hakomi (2 years as a student and 1 as an assistant teacher), an experiential and mindfulness based approach to Somatic Psychotherapy. (Lead trainers: Scott Eaton, Jon Eisman, Manuela Mische-Reeds, and Julie Murphy); Psycho-physical Therapy (2 years), a heart-centered and resourced based approach to therapy that centralizes the body (posture, gesture, movement, touch) in assessment and therapeutic interventions (Teacher/creator: Bill Bowen); and Re-Creation of the Self (R-CS), a therapy that focuses on “re-empowering our ability to live from an undivided state of Selfhood in relationship with others”. (teacher/creator: Jon Eisman). I received my Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Washington in 1997 and have a long standing love of art both as a therapeutic process of personal expression and as a socio-politically situated commentary and form of communication. I participate in ongoing professional and personal growth via classes, trainings, individual study, and consultation with colleagues.
Highlight areas: I offer a sliding scale for those in financial need, and particularly welcome LGBTQIA folks into my practice.
