Biography

I offer a body based, hands-on approach for healing and wellness. After many years of experience and training, I have designed a unique approach, using a combination of therapeutic processes, including Somatic Experiencing therapy, somatic experiencing touch work, Craniosacral Therapy, counseling, grief and loss, spirituality, and intuitive resources. This blended approach is gentle, healing and restorative; it offers healing and growth opportunities to recognize and release conscious and unconscious painful patterns from the past. The conscious mind determines one’s actions, the unconscious mind determines their reactions. This approach focuses more on the body’s “memory”, not so much the mind as we know it. This body-based approach is geared towards releasing the body’s fear-based conditioning and reactions that interfere with life today. I have been in practice since 2002. I work with adults, teens and children. This powerful work brings immediate relief and most often, reduces symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, pain, fatigue, learning disabilities and unresolved trauma.

Background Information:

For many years, while working in the insurance industry, I volunteered as a Certified First Responder for an Ambulance Corp. and at NY Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Room in NYC. As a result of 9/11, in 2002, I changed careers and began a Master’s program in Social Work. I studied and became licensed and certified in a variety of healing modalities. During these years, I also worked at Silver Hill Hospital (a psychiatric hospital), NY Presbyterian Hospital (in a psychiatric unit), and My Second Home (an adult daycare facility for older adults). After years of working in traditional mental health settings, I quickly recognized that there was a good percentage of patients who needed relational treatment to repair relational issues. With Silver Hill’s support, I then designed, implemented and managed a wellness center at Silver Hill Hospital, where body-based therapeutic services were offered.

Healing from trauma, be it big or small, is possible and together we work to “re-awaken” the body’s natural and inherent ability to heal. I am in private practice and my offices are located in Stamford and Southbury, CT.
