Biography

B. A. in Human Development: Somatic Arts (Prescott College)
M. A. in Counseling Psychology (Prescott College)
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute)

In 1979, I founded Breath of Life, a small conscious business entity in Center City Philadelphia that contained my work as a massage therapist and as a registered breathworker. Over the last 30 years I have maintained various forms of energetic bodywork practice as I have also facilitated several ongoing meditation groups. More recently, since 2006, I have completed 400 hours of professional training as a director of Psychodrama (the external enactment of our intra-psychic world) under the auspices of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (Princeton, NJ). And, in 2008, I completed a clinical training program involving 150 hours of training in the modality of Dream Tending (a depth psychology approach to working dreams largely through the honoring of the luminosity of the living images of our dream world) with Stephen Aizenstat and Marion Woodman at Pacifica Graduate Institute (Santa Barbara, CA). I have facilitated many hundreds of hours of dream work, mostly in group settings. In 2015, I have returned to Pacifica to continue intensive study with Stephen Aizenstat in his first Certification Program in Dream Tending. Since 2007, I have enjoyed ongoing participation within dozens of groups employing the fundamentals of Systemic Family Constellation Work where I have participated as client, trained representative, and group facilitator. I facilitate bi-monthly RELATIONAL ONE DAY workshops employing what I call Somatic-Imaginal Fieldwork. I am an abstract painter. My expressionistic canvases, and the felt sense of the Imaginal, are an integral part of my personal and professional practices.

In April of 2010, I completed my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Human Development (with an emphasis in Somatic Arts) from Prescott College. My degree work had a strong focus on the internal experience of gender. And in December of 2012 I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (with a focus on Somatic Psychology) also at Prescott College. Currently, I am a Somatic Psychology Mentor in Prescott’s undergraduate program in Human Development and a Mentor in Prescott’s graduate program in Counseling. I mentor courses in Trauma Resolution and Somatic Psychology. In August of 2014 I facilitated a RELATIONAL ONE DAY 8 hour workshop in conjunction with Prescott’s Masters of Counseling Colloquium. In May 2012, I completed a year-long Internship at the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (SACASA) in Tucson, AZ. I continued on at SACASA in an adjunctive role facilitating a weekly trauma resolution group through the Fall of 2012. In 2012, I completed two Womb Surround Process Workshops with Dr. Ray Castellino in Ojai, CA.

I am currently a full professional member of, and aligned with the ethical guidelines of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP). I have been a member since 2010. I accomplished the total of my original SEP training hours with Steve Hoskinson. I am an Approved SE Practitioner Training Assistant. I am currently assisting in Steve Hoskinson’s ongoing SE Practitioner Trainings in Tucson, AZ, and in Berns Galloway’s ongoing SE Practitioner Trainings in Scottsdale, AZ.
